Temporary Tattoos and Customs - Help!

I'm attempting my second custom. I've FBR'd a baity Baby Blossom with the plan to use temporary tattoos as the symbols (because I'm not artisitic LOL) which I would seal with mod podge.

So, she's all painted and sealed. Pulled out my baity Gusty to test the tattoos to gauge how long I should apply wet pressure. 45 seconds seemed perfect. Moved on to Baby Blossom only to discover the tattoos won't stick to the mod podge!

Can I repaint a few coats over the mod podge? Or is painting over a sealer not recommended? Should I cut my losses, give her an acetone bath, and just start from scratch? Will temp tattoos even stick to paint? Or should I attempt to dye her?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! She's going to be my little travel pony and we have road trip plans in 2 weeks so I need to figure something out!

Hmm, I don't think you need to start over! I haven't got experience but I would recommend using less water to stick them down with and wait for it to dry, that's when it's the stickiest, if that doesn't work then use some watered down PVA glue and slide it into place then once dry mod podge over, please be careful the glue doesn't take off the design though, if you can test it first that might work.

I did the tats on plain pony tush and then sealed.  Never tried over paint, but will add to the list.

Update! My husband is a genius! LOL He suggested trying to lightly sand off the mod podge with a fine sandpaper and it worked! Got it in place on her NDS now just have to do her display side...bit worried as I only have 2 copies of the tattoo left so can only screw up once! LOL

i have used tattoos on a painted pony. it worked. it might have been a bit tricky getting the tattoo to stay put without sliding around. after it was in place i sealed the tattoo.
