Greek ponies... questions about prices!
« on: February 25, 2016, 04:10:16 AM »
So, my heart has been captured by Greek Sunbeam and Moonstone.  They're so gorgeously pretty!
I'm wondering about prices.  I've actually seen one of each for sale MOC, priced at around $150.  I'm more interested in having them loose but am a bit confused about prices... MOC prices seem to be fairly similar with loose prices from what I've seen (though I'm by no means experienced).  And of course, I'd never ever open an MIB.

Should I consider buying them MOC, and waiting to trade with someone for minty loose ones?  How often do nice ones come up?  What sort of prices should I expect- are they really similar to MOC or am I just crazy?   :wonder:  So many questions! :P

you are right, MOC and loose Greeks tend to be very close, price wise!  About 8 or 10 years ago, there was a huge glut of hundreds of MOC Greeks for like $70 each on ebay, if I remember correctly.  ALL MOC, all in good shape, and all from the same seller, possibly they found a warehouse full or something!  Ever since then,  MOC prices have been close to loose prices, and some ponies are more common MOC then they are loose!

You are not crazy ;) there isn't much price difference between MOC and loose Greek ponies.

Greek Moonstone $80-150
Greek Sunbeam $180-200

You might be best hanging on for them loose :) people are more willing to trade a MOC pony for a loose one, rather than the other way round.
