Is the Post office really slow right now (non pony) Update: it finally made it.

Hi, everyone.

I mailed a few things on Monday. I understand that the post office is really really busy right now and even though I was told the packages would arrive by Thursday I figured they would arrive on Friday. One did arrive on Friday but the other package has not had the tracking info updated since the day I mailed it. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Update: The tracking info now says it has reached the correct state but it's been delayed but doesn't give a reason for the delay.

It started slowing down around the 13th for me.

I think it's just the usual seasonal packages slowing things down, people sending presents to family who lives far away and that sort of thing.  Every time I take a package to the PO this time of year there's a huge line.

Everyone has started mailing packages and purchases bought through eBay and Amazon are flitting about. My mail carrier said that she had almost every house on her route receiving packages today and I know my MiL's station is understaffed with people getting hurt every day. The delay may be that one of the newish clerks have put the package on the wrong route to go out (because the routes keep changing) and the carriers haven't been able to rectify the situation themselves yet. There's a whole lot of wrong happening for them right now.

This happened with a swap package I sent two weeks ago. Tracking didn't update till yesterday

I hate waiting for mail at this time of year - its always sooo slow- that's why I try to get all my online shopping done before the last few weeks in Dec at least... but I BINd something last week on ebay from the same country cos it was a good price and I figured I'd still have time to get it before the holidays... but I'm still stalking the postie for it

Thanks everyone. It took a week but the package finally got where it was supposed to go.  I expected it to take a day or two longer than what they said, but not a week.
