Fixing Build A Bear pony hair?
« on: December 05, 2015, 02:18:42 PM »
Hey pony peeps! If you saw my recent brag thread you know I recently got a large lot of BAB ponies. They had been played with and while not the worst they still had some frizzy nasty hair.

My mother has decided to clean them up and saw online that she should use fabric softener, so she went and bought a bottle of Gain fabric softener and is currently testing it on a G3 fluttershy plush I bought today.

I feel like fabric softener might be harmful though? Is it safe? Is there any better methods you guys recommend? Thanks!!! xoxo

Using JUST fabric softener may possibly be a bit much. When I style the BaB hair, I get a spray bottle, I fill it with water, and then I put in about one spoonful of the fabric softener. Then I mist the hair and work with it from there while it's wet. I've never had any problems with their hair doing it this way. :) It also makes their hair very shiny and silky looking.

Fabric softener is great for pony hair in general - it is nylon hair after all so something that looks after fabric is better than something that looks after real hair.

BAB hair, as you know, can be more than a bit wild and fly away so the key is to allow the pony as little play time as possible (or keep her hair in pleats).

As for their bodies a surface wash with a sponge in the best bet and allow to air dry.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi
