I doubt there were any plans for new Jem dolls, as they would be directly competing with the battle-of-the-bands Equestria Girls.

Which is part of the reason that set is weird to me.  If Hasbro KNEW they would be making a Jem movie, why not use the Rock 'n Roll theme for Jem dolls, not Equestria Girls dolls which could have literally any theme?  I don't get it.

Edit:  Okay, if an actor saw a headsculpt for a doll then I stand corrected.  That makes the whole thing seem even weirder to me, though.  In the 80s I could see a company making multiple rock' n roll lines profitable, but I'm not sure about today.

Equestria Girls has moved on from Rainbow Rocks with its the battle of the bands theme. Now they are on Equestria Games which has a sports competition theme.

I think you guys are all in the wrong forum. :P

The original post is about a pony reference - lets keep on that rather than the loves or hates of the film...other wise I will just split everything out and pop it over to OT. :)

As for the reference...I just appreciate any effort to include pony so I ll give an A for effort even if its not historically accurate - to be honest the nature of the film does not demand historically accurate fact for me so it does not even bother me too much.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

Well, we do know Twilight Sparkle has a spell to go back in time! x3  Maybe she did just that?  That looks like a Twilight FS of some sort!

That is too funny! xD
