What song does the Petite Carousel play?

So if you've been following my last couple threads... I got a large lot which included the Petite Carousel, and it just arrived yesterday. When I put it together and tried it out, I realized that the music box melody it played sounded very familiar. I'm positive that when I was a little girl I had a music box that played the exact same song. I asked my husband and he stated that it sounded familiar too.

This must be a common song for music boxes, maybe? It's got me curious, does anyone know what the actual name of this song is?

I distinctly remember two kinds of music boxes from my childhood. One looked like this:

There, when you wound up the box a scene on a wheel would display in the little window as the machine rotated.

And the other one looked like this, where the scene was probably on a sort of reel that passed by the screen as the music played.

Does this ring a bell for anyone? I'm just curious.

I'm pretty sure it's Toyland. "Toyland, Toyland, magical girl- and boy-land--"  Those are all the words I know. 

There's a "TV" style MLP music box with the Year 2 Earth ponies that plays "Playmate, Come Out and Play With Me".

Wow, that was fast. Thank you! Come to think of it, I think that first "Toyland" music box was one I had when I was little so that makes sense.

No problem!  The weird thing is I don't even know how I know the song.  We had a non-pony music box that played it, but I don't remember the song being on any videos we had or anything.  Maybe we had it on a record.

Yep, definitely Toyland.  I'd have never worked it out but my friend commented on the video and told me that was what it was.  If you want to know about music box tunes, you need to talk to him...he seems to have this knack for tracking down any tune!

I saw it on youtube. It plays Toyland. I don't remember what movie that's from.

Aw!  The "Playmate, Come Out and Play With Me" is one of those childhood songs that I know but don't know how I know it. 

Back to ponies...  I didn't know the carousel played music!  I may need it.
