What size battery does the talking pony chatterbox take? And how many?

I assume LR44, but I'd like to confirm since I no longer have possession of the pony.

Oh, this is good to know. My Chatterbox still works, somehow, on the batteries I found her with at Savers but one day I'm sure I will want to replace them.

definitely put in fresh batteries! Old ones have a tendency to corrode.
