Kittens Need Help!
« on: September 10, 2015, 03:06:55 PM »
Our rescue program (which is an equine rescue) took in a cat and her kittens after reports of children throwing them against brick walls in our local area.

We have one kitten left, and the mother cat (who has now been spayed) and are now available for adoption.

If you know anyone looking to rescue a cat or kitten, please pass on the links! It would be greatly appreciated as we would love to find these two lovelies a forever home as soon as possible!

Thanks pony people!

What a precious baby! I hope you can find a home for her. Idk how people can be so cruel to defenseless things... or anything for that matter. :c

Still boggles my mind True! The worst thing about this story is that the children who were hurting the kittens were just toddlers for the most part.. and the parents were just finding it hilarious.. which encouraged the children to continue. Not really sure why it is funny, and why no one stepped in but.. This is one of the many reasons I question why people even exist.

I honestly don't blame the children... :/ at that age, kids act on their parents. If their parents are having a good time watching them do an act, then they're going to keep doing it. My son was 1 and he dumped two kittens into his kiddie pool when no one was looking, We only got one out in time. :c It was a terrible terrible thing to do, but he didn't do it because he was malicious, for him it was just "I like to go swimming, lets go swimming." I told him VERY firmly that he can never ever do anything like this again! But Im sure without a doubt, if we were there to laugh as he put them in.. he would have kept going, because to him it would have turned into a fun time, so long as the adults are having fun too. Go forward into now, My son is 11 and loves animals with a passion, and cant even squash a bug despite being terrified of them.

Sorry about the long post -_- tl;dr: take it out on the parents, not the kids who are probably only doing it because the parents make it seem like a fun game. u.u

True what you said is very true (sorry about the repetition but couldn't think of a better word to fit :P).

With our charity we not only rescue horses to retain them as service animals, but also have an equine therapy program and mentor program. What I have found with the children who come through our program who can be anything from our clients with disabilities, or at risk teens, along with our adult clients - just having a good experience and actually learning about the animals can kill any potential animal abuse building, and even with persistence help animal abusers turn around… Anyway passion talk over.
