I didn't sell but I gave away.  A while back in my second or so phase of "I'm done with my little pony" I decided to downsize and give away a lot of my G3's and all my G3 playsets to a child next door.  I asked the Mom first and she said it was OK.  I hauled my ponies into their house, about 5 or so plastic grocery bags.  A short time after this her daughter came to our house for my niece's 4th birthday party (my niece was visiting from Texas) and I asked her Mom casually how her daughter is enjoying the ponies I brought over and her Mom casually said "oh she hasn't touched them since we put them in the closet of her bedroom".  I thought about asking for them back since it was obvious her daughter didn't seem to want them but I didn't.  I asked my Mom if I should and she said no.

Later on when I was madly into loving MLP again I really started to regret giving up the ponies I gave away next door.  Her daughter had grown up a lot since then so I figured by now she probably wouldn't have any interest in them.  I was debating in my head for a while but I asked here on the arena what I should do and the majority said I should go next door and casually mention I am back into collecting and if her daughter didn't want the ponies anymore that I would be glad to take them.  But, I guess her Mom was sleeping as I think she works overnights in a hospital so when her son came home I past the message onto him.  I waited almost all day anxiously for a response.  She even walked by my house to walk her daughter's dog and nothing.  So, the next day I had to work and she came outside to get ready to go somewhere so I asked if her son spoke to her and I think it took her a second and she told me that shortly before I asked for them back she had given them to someone she works with who has a young daughter.

I knew after a while that once they were given away that was it but I sort of felt offended that she didn't at least ask if I wanted them back or a least a few of them before they were gone for good.  After that I spent some time trying to get back some of the G3's I gave away, but I couldn't remember 100% all the ponies I had and I know I won't be able to get the two playsets I had back.

My first phase of "I'm done with my little pony" was when I was around 13 or 14.  Before I moved from Rhode Island to Kentucky I had about 7 or so G1's and I gave them to a girl who who was a few years younger than I am who I used to play my ponies and barbies with.  I thought I was too old for them and I thought she would enjoy them more.  It's not really the ponies, just the memories I had with them that I regret giving up I guess.  My Princess Royal Blue had grass stains on her hooves from when I used to play with my ponies in the grass.

Anyway, I've decided not to give away my ponies anymore.

Not a sale either, but just like a year or so prior to joining the arena I donated some vintage fantasy fillies that were complete and also some moondreamers.  I was like, well I don't have a lot of space and they aren't my favourite.  I think I regretted it almost immediately.

I decided to part with some childhood ponies, a few of them were slightly more rare like moon jumper and those small M+B ponies. I sold them for like 1$ on a local message board, oh boy do I regret that. It's one of those things that makes you forever feel like a dummy.

I sold/gave away nearly all of my childhood G1 collection back in the 90s. Some went a church charity bazaars, the main haul went to the Salvation Army--including a lavender Dream Castle reissue with box! Honestly my Collection 2.0 is much better, but if I could have any of my ponies back it would be Sunbeam--she was a gorgeous shade of blue with perfect glitter. I've never had my hands on one that perfect again!
Looking for CF Minty, excellent condition! (and maybe Snuzzle and Blue Belle)

In my first few years of collecting as a teenager, I would buy a bunch of ponies and then sell the ones that didn't interest me at the time.  But my interests changed and I bought some back and sold others, etc.  If I had just kept each one I got and only sold extras, I would have so many more ponies that I wish I had.  I had the full Tropical pony set MOC, as well as a mint SS Angel.  I later decided never to sell any unless they are extras.

I sold my blond Kenner Blythe, and I've regretted it ever since :( She was my first Kenner and a TLC girl, and I just didn't have the time or know how to really restore her. I wish I'd kept her even in her battered and discolored state. I've since got 3 more Kenners, 2 raven hair girls who got sold on and a red head who I've kept. But I'd love to get my blondie back. I bought a Neo Blythe who has the same coloring as the old Kenners and I'm working now to Kenner-ize her with a new scalp & some slight work on her face. I'm enjoying it and she'll be lovely, but she won't have the original quirky charm of the vintage girls.

I am really happy that my parents were not of the "get rid of it" variety with our collections, I'm lucky enough to have all my childhood ponies, plus most of those from my close friend who gave them to me and which I consider almost the same as my childhood ponies because I played with them a lot when I was young.

The only PONY thing I regret selling was my MOC Applejack. It's on US card, so I thought when I was getting rid of US carded ponies, someone can love it more than me. Probably it's true, but I omitted to notice that I don't have a loose year 3 Applejack so it created a collection gap. In a way I'd like to get a MOC one again one day, but I probably never will. That's the only pony thing I regret selling.

In other stuff...I don't think so. I've sold a lot over the years but most of it I'm happy it's going to new homes. So I guess it's just Applejack.

Oh, it's not quite the same thing, but when we were in touch with the clearance store in London that had MLP, my parents bought a Dazzleglow MOC which they were going to to give to me as a present at Christmas. I found one at a carboot sale, though, so they asked me, do you want it or shall we give it to sister's friend as a birthday gift? I said to give it to the friend as I wasn't collecting MOC then. Now I regret that sort of, but then I also don't because the friend loved it, got lots of play from it, and wherever that Dazzleglow is now, she got a chance to fulfil her destiny as a child's toy even though My Little Pony was no longer in stores.

So I do regret it a bit (a £5 MOC pony and the only one for which we have no part of the backcard) but I think, probably, it was the right thing to do.
