Centaur Sunglow?
« on: August 10, 2015, 10:30:37 AM »
Was looking around on the Hallmark site for the new Rainbow Brite Ittys-  and stumbled on this T-shirt!

Is it from a cartoon or something?  Seems like an odd t-shirt for Hallmark to just have for the heck of it, doesn't it?

It reminds me a little of the Shimmers but I think they were half deer and half human.

Yeah- not a Shimmer, or I would know who she was :D  (Shimmers were centaurs, deer-girls, bird-girls, butterfly girls, and mermaids) (and zebras and seahorses, but those were just prototypes)

I am thinking it must be a character though- since they also have some other character items like Rainbow Brite and Shirt Tails... Maybe just a card line?  I wish these were toys! But probably I would have known about them if they were...

I didn't know they all those different Shimmers I only had the yellow deer mom and baby set, but I'm pretty sure I don't have them any more.  I hope you can find out more about her and the Snow Pony.

Huh, they look really cool!! I wonder where the design came from? They kinda ring a very vague bell with me, but they might only be reminding me of Shimmers, too. :P

It looks like something they designed in the hopes of becoming a toy line but nobody took up. I'm still disappointed with how they handled Rainbow Brite they made those new redesigns, had a few episodes of a cartoon, and then released a bunch of classic styled stuff. Now while I have nothing against the classic designs I was really hoping to see more done with the new designs.

The Itty Bittys are cute and I already have an original Rainbow doll I got at a yard sale but I really would have liked some new cute mini dolls. Then again I have always wished they made mini dolls since I became familiar with the franchise.

I guess I can hijack my own post right?

So minifigures as in tiny plastic blind-bag size or as in small doll size?  There are actually some 7" dolls from the 2002 relaunch-

and there are a TON of little figures from the original collection (albeit mostly from the UK)

I have seen both of these. I like the heads of the vintage ones but don't like how their panties are always exposed and look kinda like diapers. I actually have one of the 2002 dolls (sans outfit because it was a Savers find) and it's a little taller than what I'd like to see. I have always imagined Rainbow and Co. to be around the size of SSC.
