I know very little about G2 and suddenly had this random thought : G2 seems to have no true pegasi.

Do, someone, please correct me if I'm wrong. But the closest I could find was Princess Twinkle Star (earth) or the 5 uni Princesses that have clip-on wings, but that would make them alicorns...    This seems kinda lazy on Hasbro's part (not that lazy is entirely out of character for them...  ) to have something lacking in that gen that's so much larger in the others.

You're right. Unless there's something well-hidden, all the "pegasi" of the second generation had clip-on wings.

Yep, no ''real'' wings on any G2. Only acceccory wings.

I actually saw a dream some time ago, with a G2 that had G1 wings.. it was beautiful. Sadly, only a dream.

This is incredibly odd, especially as there was definitely a G2 comic that did have some pegasi in it!

If I remember correctly, there are also very few unicorns themselves in G2. Only Princess Silver Swirl is a true uni, and then there's her baby Swirly with a fake horn on a headband, plus the five "alicorns", right? There are also a number of "Flutter" or "Breezie" types with soft fabric wings that they can wear - one of the princesses and four of the Magic dressup ponies, off the top of my head. G2 was a bit of a weird time with the vast majority being Earthies or just playing pretend. G3 followed in similar steps with pegasi and unis being introduced later and few between. Only one pegasi baby too, no little unis.

No "real" pegasi and only a few unicorns.  And no baby unicorns.   Baby Swirly with the fake horn headband was . . . interesting??

Besides the 5 Unicorns with Clip on Wings and Princess Twinkle Star,there is also Romantica /Dainty Dove 2 also with hot pink Clip on Wings , Spring too and   also 3 of the Magician Ponies have fabric wings

When G2 production began, Hasbro & Kenner had recently merged. At that time design was switched to the former Kenner group which explains the major difference in style between G1 & G2. On the US G2 packages, there is a Kenner logo instead of Hasbro. Obviously Hasbro eventually became the sole name of the company and the Kenner name disappeared into 80's & 90's toy history.

Not that it explains the lack of Pegasus & minimal unicorn ponies, but it does account for the major different in style of G2's.

That is awesome! Her wings are so different but definitely feathered and not the insectoid of Breezie, Flutter, or winger wings. I wish that her G2 toy had kept the wings...    I wonder what she'll look like in this Gen if she gets another redesign...

For me its the one thing G2 lacks as a line (but then again G3 did not go on to be impressive in quantity of unicorns or pegasus either). However at least they gave us a few we could pretend were pegasus

No actual toy pegasi... which frustrated me a lot when I was a kid.
