Help find a packaging material
« on: March 12, 2015, 02:32:00 PM »
Help!
I'm looking for something similar to this:

This type of twist tie/plastic bits aren't something that I normally hoard. I have 6 things I need to attach back in box and I assume this type of item is found in newer toy packaging.
Can someone assist me with this? I'm happy to pay something for them if you want and shipping....

Hmm  I don't have any right now, although usually my mom and I keep everything around. Maybe if worst comes to worst you could buy an inexpensive Barbie and take its ties/plastic thingies (assuming they still come with those)?

dunno about the plasticky parts but the twist ties you could get at any grocery store for free, just grab a bunch or don't throw them away after you bring the groceries home.

Maybe you could contact the toy company and ask for some? They send replacement parts for dolls -- maybe they would send replacement parts for packaging, too? I mean, they may think you're crazy, but that's probably the worst that could happen. ;)

It's a thought, but our groceries don't have that kind of twist tie.

I know those are still used on various toys. It's just a matter getting the word out and  patience. The next time I go to the dollar tree I'll have to double check the packaging on items. The one that I need will be super duper long because it has to hold in the bottom a sea pony shell.

I have those exact things. I have different lengths for the ties and the plastic things with holes in two different sizes. PM me if you're interested.
Thanks devonshireRed for the avi!

Seachanger may be your best bet, but I would twist a bunch of smaller twist ties together to make a long one (though at one point I bought a roll of twist tie material that I was able to cut to length) or get a roll of wire from the hardware store (not too heavy a guage) and put a pad between the object and wire.  For the hard plastic thing at the back I would try to see if I could poke holes in and use heavy cardboard or pieces of an old plastic container.

Good luck!
Thank you to SquarePeg for my beautiful avi.
