I've been reading about various pony ailments and I'm trying to correctly identify the problems my ponies have. I have three examples that I'm trying to figure out and would like it if anyone could tell me what the problem is.

1 looks like a stain on the hind leg and maybe a yellowish stain on the front but, and 2 & 3 look like age spots, which would be cancer (not contagious).

A G3 with cancer spots already?  Was it stored near other ponies with cancer spots?  I guess it's contagious.  Might want to quarantine them.

Have you removed the head of the sea pony to make sure it isn't moldy in there?  Light colored ponies (usually white and yellow) with mold inside will start to darken as the mold shows through.

As for the other two, looks like discoloration to me.  They weren't stored near anything painted with nail polish, were they?

The first definitely looks like some kind of stain, possibly a color bleed from something else touching it?

Hm, what have these ponies been cleaned with so far?  I had a couple G3s I thought were suffering from stains but acetone managed to clean them up quite nicely when soap and water and elbow grease (magic eraser) wouldn't do.

I agree with Pokeyonekenobie, open up that seapony if you can and get her cleaned out, the weights in them rust badly over time, and it could be something internal rather than pony cancer (which I don't think it looks like, personally, but I could be wrong).

I got all these ponies second hand and they came with the discolorations so I don't know what conditions they were stored in.  I removed the seapony's head and there isn't rust inside.

The 1st looks like someone put nail polish/marker on the leg. a previous little kid owner probably.
the 2nd looks like a stain or something
the 3rd could be from cigarette smoke, pvc breakdown, yellowing/discoloration of light plastics and it was likely played with in the water a lot.

#1 is marker or some other type of ink stain.
#2 actually looks like a stain to me as well - it doesn't have the right shape for VDS (vinyl deterioration symptoms) which are almost invariably round or groups of round spots.  Looks more like she was laying on some kind of chemicals or stain, as it's all grouped on one side.  Long term contact with Plasticine (non-hardening oil clay) or play-doh can also make those types of stains.
#3 is VDS.  The two white adult seaponies are /notorious/ for this particular condition, and their almost universal exposure to moisture / temperature changes probably accelerated it.

I agree with that - 1 is certainly a stain and 2 is probably a stain (maybe caused by something going on inside). Unfortunately 3 is what so many G1 sea ponies from the second set suffer from - evil age marks (probably brought on a little more speedily due to the metal inside as well as the fact the vinyl will have gotten wet at some point in the past).

So is there any hope for these ponies? I've tried soap and water, nail polish remover, and eraser on them.  I'm going to try sun on the sea pony. Any other tricks I can try? And if nothing works are they bait?

Be careful with the white seapony - a lot of the white plastic batches, particularly the semi-translucent looking ones like Sea Mist/Whitecap can actually turn darker brown / burn in sunshine rather than fade. The G3's can likely be sunfaded safely, even if they don't turn out they're not very expensive to replace, unlike Sea Mist.  Surface cleaning isn't going to help any of these gals, since the stain is actually in the plastic itself.

Anyone ever sunfaded the white seapony adults out there who wants to chime in?

If they were mine I'd bait them and do a full body repaint.  But that's just me, unless they're really rare.

I agree with Baby Sugarberry and I would not sun fade the sea pony - it will probably make her worse unfortunately as she will probably tan or burn.

On the other 2 I would keep on with the sunfading; with time and patience that will work on Minty and it should lighten the issues on the other G3 as well.
