I watched The City of Bones again today for probably the 20th time.  I'm a huge fan of the books and have even read the side books such as The Bane Chronicles and I've recently downloaded the prequel books of The Infernal Devices and the first book to the Shadowhunter Academy.  I'm trying to keep up with the side stories but it's hard. (lol)  I was also mad, because it said The Bane Chronicles was only an ebook for kindle or kindle fire and now it's out on print.  If I had known that I would have waited.

So, I was browsing for when City of Ashes is going to be out and saw The Mortal Instruments TV series.  Apparently they're going to make the TV series instead of doing each book into a movie.  I"m not sure how I feel about this.  I would have preferred each book to be a movie and chances are they'll have different actors, but who knows.

Anyway, here's the website where I saw the info about the TV series.  I believe it's being filmed soon.

Oooo, I love the books too!  In fact, I liked The Infernal Devices better than The Mortal Instruments.  But I think a series would be fun - they probably could include more material from the books than a movie format would allow.

Well a heads up then, Shadowhunter Academy is going to be released into a complete volume like the Bane Chronicles was, too.  And I liked TID better, too, ashes! I dunno how I feel about the series yet. Cassandra Clare is miserable over it and I feel awful for her and am rather reminded why I have no desire to be published. They are changing it quite a bit. It may still be ok, but.... We will just have to see I guess.

I always enjoy looking forward to a new series to watch and hope it'll be good, but the character of Jace better be as good or better than the actor in the first movie.  It's going to be hard not thinking about the first movie when watching this, but are they going to go through the books in this series or just make up their own stories?  I know the website I linked to said cannon so maybe I just answered my own question.

Thanks kaoskat on the Shadowhunter Academy update.  I have all the books and most of the side stories on my kindle paperwhite so I figured I might as well just get them all on there, plus the ebooks for this series are really cheap--I think $2.99 and they're about 40 pages each story.  I haven't actually read them yet, I have so much to read.

Thanks ashes on your opinion of The Infernal Devices I'm looking forward to reading them.  Magnus Bane is in the list of I think my top 3 favorite characters.

I love Magnus Bane too!  Definitely one of my favorite literary characters too.

That's kind of a bummer if they are changing things around for the tv series.  Huh.
