PinkyPig & Smash-Face Fluttershy? What are these Scary Banks? (Photo=Toyfair

With toyfair on, I was looking around for photos of stuff, hoping for good-lighting photos & clear colors of brushables and other things to want in this exciting time. However, instead, I stumbled upon these frightful objects. I guess they are banks? (ranks?) the card is sort of read able.

But what is that, Pinkiepig?
That's a hog-snout, and also look at where they put the eyes. One is clearly higher up than the other. Are they decal-figures and one eye slipped down?

What happened to Fluttershy's face?
Are they serious?

I had not seen these on any thread, and I'm trying to figure out who approved them. Wouldn't that Fluttershy offend her fans? I would hope these are prototypes but why bring protos to the fair?

If there wasn't a slightly visible hint of an eye on the other side of the face, I would have thought that Fluttershy was designed to cater to the Cyclops demographic!

Wow... It makes me wonder how big they are to have such terrible faces and sloppy paint jobs. They look about the same quality level as Busy Books figurines or the Russian Chupa Chup/Kinder Surprise teensy figures. At least their eyes are facing forwards and not the backwards wall-eye so often found on merch?

That Fluttershy (bank) was originally scheduled for release last fall, but it seems there has been a delay with the release. Now Fluttershy is scheduled for early 2015. Pinkie Pie is the new addition to Diamond Select's MLP bank series. Other releases are Applejack, that was originally scheduled for last fall with Fluttershy, but isn't out yet (their site says estimated January 2014?) and also Rarity, that was scheduled for January 2015 release, but now is coming in March (estimated release time).

I saw that Pinkie bank on Ebay and it didn't look nearly as bad. Maybe it's just a bad picture

All the promo shots for the Diamond Select stuff looks nice and my Rarity is loooovely So I am thinking it is perhaps just a very unfortunate image lol...hopefully!

I actually like the Pinkie Pie one. The Fluttershy one's face looks very off.
