Need help with keyboard

Okay, so what happened is embarrassing, but.....

My laptop got vomited on.  Yeah, not pretty. By me too no less. It's a long story.

Anyways a lot of my keys are very sticky and I have been cleaned them but some seem really stuck or just outright malfunctioning. The number 1 works fine, but I can't get the exclamation point to work when I hit shift. Does anyone know what I should do to get it to start working again? Or any forum you recommend I ask in?

I have no clue but that doesn't sound good. It might be easier and cheaper to just get a replacement keyboard.

I really just need to get a new laptop anyways.  Maybe now is the time. I'm low on funds....

Mine stopped working a while back due to my cat deciding it was a toilet.

I fixed it for a little bit by popping all the keys off, washing them, and then wiping the areas under them. Though that only worked for a month or so and then the keyboard stopped working entirely.

A new laptop was completely out of the question for me, so what I did was hook up an old USB keyboard to it. Works great for me! Though I do only use my laptop on my desk; if you move around with yours, a keyboard that's a seperate piece might not work out.

If you need a new laptop, try searching QVC.com. You will end up paying a little more in the long run but most of the laptops they offer - they have payment plans so instead of paying $600 at once, it's broken down to a little over $100 a month for 5 or 6 months. That's the only way I could afford  this laptop. Plus, if you are not happy with the computer, you can return it within a certain amount of time.
I think when it's all said and done, I will end up paying about $150 more then I would if I went to Best Buy or walmart but I don't really mince since I was able to get the computer I wanted (even though it came to about $700) instead of getting a cheaper one that isn't really what I was after.
