Hi! I have a chance to buy a Craigslist lot near me that has a Surprise and a Baby Moondancer, and, for all I know, more G1 ponies, but I don't see any more in the picture. There are lots of G3s and G4s, though. Can anyone tell me if the G3s and G4s are worth buying? The lot as a whole, with all the non-pony stuff included, is $90, which I'm sure is too much, but she said she could just sell me the ponies in her pictures and the price could go down to $50. I might be able to negotiate; not sure yet. How much would you pay for the lot? $50 seems too high.

As far as G4s, I think I see Trixie, Snowcatcher, Twilight Sparkle, Sunset Shimmer (and one in package, I think), Rarity, Nurse Redheart, and others. Any opinions would be appreciated!

I personally would buy all the G4's, but I would try to make a lower offer first :)

I count 49 ponies, with only a few being McD's. So it would work out to about a dollar each. If it was close to home, I would get it. You can probably sell off the extras to at least break even.

I agree with the other 2, but buying the lot would leave you with an awful lot of "everything" else. Which would probably be a lot to clean and re-sale, probably not worth your time, but pony only options seems alright, youmight have a gem in there! who knows :satisfied:

I spy Honeybuzz, who can fetch up to $30 on her own, so I'd have to say yes, go for the ponies

Thank you guys; the info has helped so far! I want to offer her less than $50 (don't quite feel comfortable with that number), and I wonder if she'd take it. She offered to meet me tomorrow, and I responded, but haven't heard back quite yet.

I'd definitely give a lowball bid. It wouldn't be worth it to me with all that extra stuff unless there was a Year 3 sea pony shell in there somewhere. I do see a G1 Surprise, but of course she's common. I don't suppose the person would let you just buy a few things?

Good luck!
Looking for CF Minty, excellent condition! (and maybe Snuzzle and Blue Belle)

Honestly, for $50 for just the ponies, I think that's a great deal.  Even if you were just planning on keeping the G1s in there, I'm pretty sure you could make back the whole $50 from selling the others.  I try to avoid lowballing, especially on something that is an actual good deal (as in, if you were actively seeking all of these ponies, it is a good deal - if you were just after 1 or 2 and the rest didn't mean anything to you and you had no way/interest of selling, yes $50 is quite steep) because I'm always afraid to turn the seller off completely.

Well, I ended up deciding not to buy the lot because I already am in over my head trying to sell the extras from lots I do have (I literally have about 100 ponies or more to sell!), and I would have sold most of the lot (probably keeping only some G4s which I don't have) and, of course, had to clean them, categorize them, list them, etc. It's just always so tempting when a nice lot comes up close to you. Hopefully someone else gets the lot and appreciates it. Thanks you guys for the advice, though; it was a big help, since I don't know those generations very well.
