First time deflocking
« on: January 18, 2015, 04:00:42 PM »
I decided to deflock a pony... I had a Truly that i had attempted several methods of cleaning her stained fur. I tried laundry stain remover/carpet cleaner/traditional soaps and light scrubbing. Nothing would remove the dark stains. On top of the stains she was rubbed in a lot of areas. So i decided it was time for a new lease on life.

I soaked her in warm water. Rubbed off all her flocking. (it came off very easy after soaking. just used my hands to remove the fur)
Then she had glue residue. I used acetone to remove it. (I used a Qtip near her symbol making sure I didn't damage her eyes or symbol)

She looks 100% better. Much whiter and happier too!

I am very happy with the results :)

Pretty!  Patchy So Softs look so much better when they're deflocked.  I had a Posey with the same problem.  I kind of wish I'd taken a before picture.  Her flocking was so bad it came off in big patches every time you touched her.  I think she looks happier now that she doesn't have mange anymore.

I have a couple other so softs that might end up deflocked because they're running a bit patchy.

I really love the way Posey looks! Im thinking about deflocking a set of the So soft ponies. (its super easy to find damaged flocked ponies) and they look so happy when they are deflocked!

Thanks!  I love flocking because it's soft and pretty but I also love that it keeps the ponies protected.  When you remove the fuzz the colors are AMAZING because they had to be brilliant to be seen through the flocking.
