Kaiju Fan Thread

I created a DBZ Fan Thread for that one cartoon that was more than half my childhood along Disney, but behind those two things, I've always been a big fan of Godzilla, the one and only King of the Monsters, and many other movies based on the kaiju genre.

I don't think many people are fans of this genre since, it exists since the 20s, yet many people were introduced to genre through more recent kaiju movies, like Cloverfield or Pacific Rim.

But the kaiju genre truly began with Godzilla in 1954, and ended on 2004. Sure, we had a horrible abomination named Zilla in 1998, and a mediocre reboot on 2014(with an upcoming sequel in 2018), but anyways, Godzilla is love, Godzilla is life. Everything Kaiju/Monster related can be talked about here aswell.

But just like with my previous topic, a few questions:

1. How were you introduced to the Kaiju genre?

I found a bunch of Godzilla movies, I sat laughing through the Showa era, I was amazed with the Heisei era and I was blown with Millenium for the sheer awesomeness of those movies.

The one that started it all on 1954 is no doubt one of the greatest masterpieces on worldwide cinema.

2. What's your favourite Kaiju?

Pfft. What a silly question. Godzilla is the best no contest. But pretty much every kaiju from his franchise is awesome too. His rival Ghidorah is just as awesome as he is.

And Gamera. I mean, a flying rocket turtle. Take all my money.

3. What's your favourite Kaiju movie?

The 1954 Godzilla movie is the best kaiju movie I've ever seen, but GMK is truly my favourite, because Godzilla is just a bad-ass here. The Korean movie The Host is also one of my favourites.

4. If you had to create a monster, what would it be? A defender or a destroyer? What would be his origin?

Personally destroyer. He's created from pollution and wants to rid humans from Earth because this world does not belong to us anymore. The irony: Our own weapona attacking to ourselves.

5. Do you prefer action scenes over human action in kaiju moves?

Both are great elements in a kaiju movie.

6. Have you seen any kaiju cartoon, like the 1977 Godzilla Hannah-Barbera show?

I have! Many!

7. What would happen if a random kaiju appeared in PonyLand/Equestria?

They're dead. The cute ones survive, though.

8. Which two kaijus would you pick ton fight each other?

I wish Godzilla fought King Kong again. They fought back in 1962, but the movie itself was pretty much the one that started the series to go child-friendly, and so, it was very cheessy.

And maybe add Gamera somewhere in there.

9. Out of all the Kaiju mechs, which one do you think is the best?

Mecha-Godzilla, nuff said.

10. Have you ever heard the great melody that is Jet Jaguar's song?

I do collect some kaiju type toys, but that's the extent of it really.

Kaiju talk, I can't resist.

I was introduced to it as a young girl when I watched some Godzilla films with my parents. Since I already loved dinosaurs and dragons, I took to the films quickly. I remember drawing pictures of Godzilla and Mothra for my teachers and even writing poems for one portion of class  My favorite kaiju is King Ghidorah, with Godzilla right behind. I haven't really decided on a favorite movie though, and I've seen the '98 zilla cartoon and the Hanna-Barbera one (which I love). As one in equestria? I'd like to see Fluttershy tame a Godzillasaurus  I don't have a favorite mech either.

I was actually very fond of the '14 reboot, but not the '98 film. I have a few figures, two posters, a shirt, a video game, and some of the films. I'd like to start collecting Godzilla alongside my pony collection.

That's more Power Rangers/Super Sentai related than Kaiju related. It's hilarious-looking though.

Godzilla! However I do love the Negora figures

To be honest I don't know.

It would be a defender I can't pick a form though.

I do remeber Godzilla and Godzooky.

Not sure, I must admit I do prefer them to be non-mech.
