The people making the merch and the people making the ponies are two separate things entirely....

Hasbro licenses their characters to other companies that make the merch. Hasbro is not spending time or money on making merch like this themselves.

That being said, I want new charas too. But too much merch isn't the reason that's not happening. -.-
