Any folks got experience buying from Chile?
« on: October 10, 2014, 05:06:27 PM »
Hey folks! Question this time.

I'm eyeing my favorite G1 pony MOC for an amazing price but the seller is located in Chile. I'm not familiar with their postal service but it says on eBay it'll take about a month minimum to get to California. I'm also a little wary since the seller has quite the arsenal of MOC ponies, which is a little unusual.

Anyone have experience with buying from Chile? Is having a large amount of MOC ponies unusual or a red flag? Let me know ASAP! I got three days to pounce on my fave pony!

Here's my warning, ask how it'll be shipped.  I've learned the hard way that if you don't emphasis how important the packaging is they like to stick your expensive figures (MIB) in bubble wrap and call it a day.

Is the seller Diangochile or something similar? (I can't remember the exact name)  If so I have bought from them a few times and the transactions went fine.  I will say though the cards on the ponies were beat up a little more than I expected.  I didn't feel that the seller misrepresented the auction but it's something to keep in mind.  I haven't bought from them since because of this.  I remember reading somewhere that they discovered a warehouse full of MOC ponies which is why they have so many for sale.  Mostly TEs and TAFs.  It took about three weeks for the ponies to arrive to me. Good luck!

I've bought from the same seller as cricket mentioned. It was some years ago maybe 6 but I had no problems :)

That is indeed the seller! I've been circling around their MOC Dancing Butterflies for a bit and I might just go for it. I'll be sure to note that packaging and condition is important. Thanks guys! I'm glad to have the chance to own the star of my symbol theme army MOC!

If she's your grail I say go for it!  I have her MOC and she's pretty amazing in person.  ;)

They accept Paypal yes? then based on experience from the others here (I haven't personally bought any of the MOCs from this seller but I have bought from South American countries) I would go for it if she is your grail especially. Plus  you have plenty buyer protection as long as you keep an eye on the deadline. I would expect 3-4 weeks arrival time but it may be quicker (or a little slower - usually depending on getting through customs.,..)  :awake:
I think I would also take the advice to send the seller a message about packing this pony securely since you don't want the card to get damaged during shipping ;)
Here's hoping all goes well and you get your grail hun
