If you think about it, it does make sense, at least a little. Nowadays, are there any toys produced in Hongkong anymore? No, today everything comes from China. In the 80s, that was still different. So maybe that's their way of thinking.

Yeah, it does make a little bit of sense, since Hong-Kong's now part of China again... but still be it China or Hong-Kong, there's really no difference between these ponies.

I can understand if it were Thai or Macau ponies that these people were talking about, since those are legit variants - like the Macau Jenny or Lemondrop with the "bleeding" symbol, or Thai Mountain Boys, or the EU-only Chinese Fancy Pants Baby Ponies.

Chinese and Hong Kong ponies are practically the same thing. So I don't really get why they should be placed at such a high price. Especially those ponies, that have to be like one of the most common G1s in existance - like the good ol' Peachy. XD

Car boot vendors crack me up. One tried to charge me £5 for the mankiest Cherries Jubilee because "well, they've become very collectible you know?"

No dur, my pony room agrees :P But that pony is gross. :silly:
