Would G4 Versions of G1 Ponies Sell?

And I simply can't understand why is that - especially since the Blind Bags had so many ponies, both fillies and colts, released over time, yet brushables only had a handful of those, with only one male character.

This bugs me too. Why only the 1 male brushable? I honestly think the only reason they made Shining Armor was to sell the Wedding set (is he even advertised as Twilight Sparkle's older brother?). Can't have a bride without a groom (but you can, hence bridal beauty, pony bride, and satin'n'lace)
I mean, I always thought they would release Big Macintosh as the first boy pony in the G4 line because he is Applejack's big brother. Slap him in a set with Applejack and Applebloom and I'll be all over it.

I'm pretty sure that is the only reason they made Shining Armour - as an "accessory" to the pretty pink pony princess. (NOT that I have any problem with Cadance - she's adorable - but still)

I thought they'd make Big McIntosh first, too!! Even back when I disliked G4 and knew very little about it, I thought that. I don't care how they release them, I just want more boys .

I dont see why not...removing the generation aspect of them there is nothing different in the colours, styles, symbols, names and fundamental style of MLP from gen 1 to gen 4. So I dont see why a G4 pony with the colours, symbols and name of a G1 pony would be unpopular in comparison to unique G4 creations.

I'd go on to suggest more G3 to G4 conversions too.  I'm holding out hope for alicorn princess Star Catcher.  At least with the G3s we know Hasbro still has the rights to the names.  Still, I'm sure they could add "Pegasus" in front of Firefly and bam, trademark.  They've done it for Transformers so why not ponies?

Hmm... how many MLP fans out there prefer the G3 character designs and packaging art etc.?  Aside from PinkiePosh, that is!    I've wondered lately if one could just port G3 designs/toys/characters into G4 without many people missing the original G3 look?  I was never fully on board with G3's cartoon designs, but then again I can be picky.

Quite a few G3s have shown up in G4 already - Minty, Waterfire, Skywishes, Sweet Song, Periwinkle.. etc. Unless I'm misunderstanding your question?

Sorry!  I meant if ALL G3s were converted to G4s in the MLP merch "timeline" or cartoon canon.  Effectively erasing G3 as though it never existed.

I've found a few G4s that I have a soft spot for but as a whole this line doesn't catch my eye the way the previous gene do. If they were to remake some of my old faves in G4 style I could easily become an avid collector.

I don't think it would erase cannon. Transformers are still using G1 characters and it hasn't changed canon. Its just a diffetent story.
