Paypal not verified...HELP

I had an ebay item bought from me a couple days ago....I was wondering why it was showing up as payment pending which it turns out that I needed to accept the payment but when I tried to do that it told me my account isn't verified. I have been using paypal for quite some time with my ebay account. I use an older bank account that I have that doesn't really have any money in it because I am not comfortable putting my real bank account info online...my account is never negative though and I have all good reviews. I don't know what happened and why it was changed but now I don't know what to do about my buyer???

It says on my ebay I accept paypal so should I message them and ask them to pay a different way or just ask them if they want to cancel the transaction because I can't accept the payment right now?? I don't know what to do without seeming shady. And what happens if I decline the payment???

Have you sold before on this account? If not you may need to upgrade your PayPal account type to premier or business in order to accept the payment. I maybe wrong but I think you're allowed to receive 2 PayPal payments funded by a debit/credit card and then you have to upgrade.

I have been selling on this account for years....just for some reason my bank account which is a very old account I don't use anymore has become unverified....I don't why. I opened up a new one today but they said I can't set up my online banking until I receive my debit card (that is how to verify the account) which will probably be next week. So its all a big mess.

I guess I am just going to message the person who bought from me and tell them I have to cancel the transaction??? I don't know what else to do. And if they are still interested I will be relisting when all of this is straightened out? I hate having to do that but.....

I would call PP before you cancel on the buyer. I bet someone on the phone can help you figure this out.

I agree, definitely call. There might just be something that needs the information updated and they should be able to tell you whatever it is.
