Mommy Charms?

Recently "discovered" these; I was aware that they existed, and of what they were, and even of some characters, but never paid too much attention to them. Now, I've fallen in love with these little charms. These are too cute. I might pick some up. How much do the members of the set of 20 go for in decent condition? Do any go significantly higher or lower than the average? How often do they pop up? Same for their poem. It's too cute not to own.

Another thing I'm curious about: what color are their eyes? Do they all have the same periwinkly color? If not, then what do each of them have? It's very hard to see online, since they're so small.

Also, are there any (other) variants? According to this image of the set on My Little Wiki, at least one peach Paint-a-Picture exists? http://mylittlewiki.org/wiki/File:Mommy-charm-set.jpg How many are there? Are they expensive?

Mommy Charms used to be painfully expensive for what they were *grumbles to herself on the prices spent on them back in the day*. However a few years ago hundreds of in packet ones were found in a closed down factory and they flooded ebay in massive numbers. That meant that their prices fell down and they have never really recovered. You can pick up most of them for anywhere from $6-10 each.

There are some which pop up a little more often than others but not to any degree that there is an obvious handful which are common and some which are super rare. However a lot of the purple, blue and white ones can be prone to very bad age marks and they can be harder to find in minty condition.

The leaflet was boxed with almost all the ponies which were released around the same time so its not that hard to find. But it does not come up for sale as often as the charms themselves.

There are not really any variants of them - its just that some of them have some different shades of hair and body but thats probably due to batches and manufacture more than anything else.

When I was a kid I did a swap with an experienced collector who lived across the road from us - she swapped the purple Mommy charm with the diary on it and a big cancer spot right in the middle... and in return I gave her some Perfume Puff Palace accessories like the blue sparkly scarf that is now nigh on impossible to get hold of  Ah well, I didn't know any better. I still have that charm, don't know how to get rid of it!
