Quick question about greek green Firefly
« on: October 26, 2014, 04:00:43 AM »
Hi Pony friends,

I just have a quick question : as I have just remarked this:

one of my MOC green greek Firefly has blue eyes and my second MOC has violet ones ?

does anyone else has already seen this?

I know for Glory there is 2 eyes colors: the blue and the violet ones as well as Moonstone (blue and Brown eyes) but I did not known for Firefly!

To the attention of the pony friends who own a green Firefly can you please check the eyes colors of yours?

Many many thanks in advance,

Lots of Hugs,

Bibi

My Greek Firefly (blue body, green hair) has blue eyes.

I think many if the Greek ponies (Pegasus & Unicorns) have eye color variations, but because so many are HTF the eye color variations don't get noticed. Also it makes it even harder for collectors to complete a set. Maybe we don't talk about the eye color variations for our own sanity. :faint: Haha!!

I think kkv hit the nail on the head! ;) I've heard of eye variations for quite a few of that set, but don't think anyone really wants to contemplate it too hard - it would be quite a daunting prospect!

How much of a colour difference are you talking? Its pretty normal for ponies with purple eyes to end up with any shade from purple to blue eyes over time due to pigments. I agree Greeks have too much variety almost to get our collective heads round but for blue or purple situations its possible its simply age which has caused the problem as well.

Hi Pony friends,

so many many thanks for all comments and explanations  :) :)

Hathorcat: I should take pics if I have 5 minutes , your explanation could be fully right. However I have the ponies in front of me and I can tell for sure I am talking about 2 colors (sorry for my English explanation, i think in french i could be clearer lol) I mean it is not a shade of blue like the purple has due to age changed. It is clearly one strong violet and one nice blue color.

I was just asking as I am too curious and I love so much greeks I wanted to be sure it is not a variant I could have and sell it and regret it lol.

Ok now I have to decide what i will do  :P ...

Pony friends as usual I deeply thank you all for your help

The color is strikingly different. The blue is a true blue while the purple is a red/magenta toned purple. It's definitely not a fading of paint or pigment, when you have 2 ponies right in front of you.
