ID Request: 1980s Vinyl Unicorn Figure

I recently discovered (or rediscovered) this vinyl unicorn in a bin of ponies and wondered if anyone knew if it was part of an actual line (it vaguely reminds me of something that I think was based on either a show or comic, but it might just as likely be unlicensed (but the familiarity is driving me crazy, so I'd love to have confirmation one way or the other).

Based on photos of this toy with its original owner, I know it's from 1985 or earlier.

it almost looks like it could be from an early princess but I don't believe they go back that far (princess and pony)

OMG!  I know this one!  There was a set of clowns about the size of smurfs, and they had this unicorn and a baby one!  I think maybe its name was Clancy?  I had the baby and a friend had this one.

Ah ha!  They were called "Clown Arounds!" I found a completed auction on ebay that had a bunch of the figs and that unicorn.

I had to do a little more snooping around.  I was close on the name--it's "Chauncy."  The baby was "Hugo," which means I probably changed it.
