This picture is very bad and I apologize. It's a black line thingy, and it could possibly be a pen mark but I'm not 100% sure.

Honestly, it could be anything. Most likely a stain - from pen or clothing or something similar - over the years. What have you used so far to try and remove it?

Could be pen, could be pencil...  could be dirt ingrained into glue...  As hathorcat said, what have you tried to clean it with so far?  That will give us some clues!
