Moving to another city, finally!

So it's finally official, I will be gathering my stuff and moving almost across the country. Yay!

I have been itching to get up and do this for years, but haven't had a good chance before this. I was about to move some years ago but had to decide otherwise because of family and my own health, and after that my father had a bad stroke so I felt obliged to stay, help and see how my family would get on their feet and survive that situation.

Now that my health is better, my father is better and my family is doing fine, one of my friends from there asked if I was interested moving in with her as her previous house mate was moving out. I had visited my friend many times and always ogled at that apartment, loving pretty much everything about it, so after some time I decided that yes, now was a good time to try my wings at another city. There's this study program that I think will be perfect for me and help me with my goal to another school, plus I have more friends there than I have in my current living place.

Also I can take a dog when there's a good time for it as my current apartment has a no new dogs policy, when you move in and you have a dog it's fine but while living there you can't take new pets.  My new house mate already said it would be fine with her, she herself has two dogs and she thinks highly of them.

So overall, YAY! I got my new bus card today and I'm so giddy that I can only wobble around all excited. I know that the move will kill me, but after that I expect to be pretty darn happy!

Is anyone else moving or having similar experiences?

Yay! I hope the move goes smoothly.

Just curious, what's the city you're moving to? I have a bit of a soft spot for Finland (I blame it on listening to too much heavy metal ) so I like learning about the country.

Fryawayraven, I will be moving to Tampere. I live in Joensuu now, quite close to the eastern border. Tampere is about 250 miles to the middle of Finland.

Yay!! I am excited for you! I am getting ready to move ASAP. We are currently looking for a place and whenever we find the right one we are gone. Going to look at 2 places on Saturday so I have my fingers crossed. I am not moving too far..probably about 30-40 minutes away but when you live 3 minutes down the road from the in-laws that seems like a state away!

I am also excited because I will get to have my own washer and dryer......hopefully dishwasher...I won't have to hide my cat anymore(we were bad, we moved into a no pets rental and the landlords live in our neighborhood so we don't have a cat if anyone asks).... my husband will be way closer to his job/school......and the list goes on and on......I am happy for you and hope that everything goes smoothly. I am stressing about moving but I can just imagine how much easier and happier life will be once we do. Good luck!

Gloomygirl777, oh you were naughty! I would be too scared to have a secret pet. But I'm glad you are moving too, both for the cat and you, as living that close to in-laws would be pretty hard for anyone. I hope you find a great  apartment soon!

  I was bad.......and trust me.. it is very scary having a secret pet. I have had the landlords in my house before with my cat in the bedroom.......I was like sweating waiting to hear meeooooowwwwwww.......
