Bonnie Zacherle Interview
« on: August 05, 2014, 12:48:59 PM »
Hi everyone! I attended the MLP Fair as Press for Everfree Network, and I was privileged enough to record an interview with MLP creator Bonnie Zacherle. It was an honor to be able to preserve her thoughts and stories for the historic record and make them available to all MLP fans.

Check it out!

This is great, thank you!

You (? or the interviewer if you only did the recording) touched on something that I've always been very curious about. She started talking about the process of MLP, the sketches and sculpting and painting the model. I just wonder how the actual molds were made. Did they really sculpt them by hand? Anyone know that? I wish we could hear the whole process of what the artists and production people do to make those ponies.

The originals were hand-scuplted, I remember seeing a video linked around here at one point that was a video podcast where they had a few of the original heads, shy pose and firefly's pegasus pose I think.

That's awesome. Hard to believe people can sculpt that flawlessly. I wonder how they did it or if it's just pure skill. Even when doing a new one and getting them to be pretty much the same size as past ones?
