Glory's blue stripe! Dye or rehair?

Welp, my first attempt at hydrogen peroxide sunfading has ended in a bit of a disaster. My Glory's blue stripe has faded to white... I really didn't think that color would be a problem, and now I'm faced with a bit of a dilemma. I know it's ultimately my choice but I'd like some outside opinions.

I already have the correct color of Dollyhair, so I could rehair her and be certain that it's the right shade. But it would not be original locks of hair.

Or I could attempt to dye it back the right color. This is dodgy, getting the right shade, but at least the actual hair would be original.

I'm personally leaning toward rehairing the stripe as there's less risk involved. What do you think?

Also, how can I avoid this in the future? Are light colors in general just more prone to fading? Thank you, guys.

Try dying first. If you don't get the right shade you are in no worse a position to rehair.

I'd try a quick dye. If it ends up being too dark it will eventually fade lighter. If worse comes to worse you could always re-hair. As I've mentioned in the past when I've H202'd ponies they've had no hair; there's no way to completely guarantee that hair won't fade unless you wrap it in tinfoil before you soak them...

Yeah, I'd better wrap hair from now on when trying this technique. It'll save me a lot of grief in the long run.   I'm going to try dye, and if all else fails I'm sure Dollyhair will look nice. Her body is still soaking; there's a blue mark by her symbol that still needs some fading.

I would try this option first as well. If she is lovely other than that its worth trying to track down a donor tail that you could use to rehair first. If not I agree with trying the dye and then rehairing.

I personally have never liked hydrogen peroxide sunfading; you risk too much as any colour in the body/paint/hair could start to fade as well. However if you do it again, I agree the best option is to coat it in vaseline or something similar and wrap the hair up in saran wrap and then tinfoil before exposing the remainder of the pony. Lighter colours and pinks and reds and oranges are going to be the most problematic but in H202 conditions anything could fade to a degree.
