[Teaser] My first custom in nearly four years.

I haven't attempted customizing since I was twelve, when ponies were my main 'fandom', for lack of a better word. Anyways, after seeing some amazing customs on here my inspiration was re-kindled and I decided to give it another shot. She isn't complete yet, but I don't think she's turning out too badly.
Anyways, this is a custom of the Last Unicorn, originally a G1 Bride pony, sculpted in various mixtures of Sculpey III and Premo! Sculpey. She'll eventually have some Amaco air-dry on her as well, I bought some the other day and love it so far.
Ears were sliced off and new ones were formed over a wire base; wires were poked into her backside and forehead, and covered with clay to form her tail and horn. I also sculpted over her eyes as I don't feel the original MLP look suits the character, and I also added clay around her mouth to form more of a natural frown. Still needs a longer mane and foot feathering, but since oven-bake clay dries out (and cracks) if it isn't baked within three days I had no choice but to bake her.
I know, the pictures are horrible but I haven't yet learned how to photograph something white without it glaring back.

She looks lovely so far, but it's a pity you couldn't rehair her. I know the last unicorn doesn't have a very long mane, but even so it looks a little short. It isn't bad though. I especially love what you've done with the horn and the tail! You will update when you've started painting her I hope? I will look forward to seeing the finished version!

The Last Unicorn was one of my favorite movies as a kid, and the book was fabulous when I was a teenager. As an adult I have bought the comic version in book form and it's absolutely beautiful. Have you seen the comic version of the story?

Thank you for the compliment! I agree that her mane is a bit on the short side, but that is why I purchased the air-dry clay - I can attach more strands over or beneath the hair to adjust the length. This hopefully will be updated once she's painted, although that may be a while. The last time I painted a pony white, I had to airbrush the body four or five times, allowing each coat to dry in-between applications. It was tedious.

I didn't know there was a comic version, but I bet the artwork is lovely!
