How can I fix this hole in my top?
« on: June 22, 2014, 02:10:38 PM »
I accidentally managed to scrape my back on a nail sticking out of my bed. It hurt so much, but what hurt more is what it did to my favourite MLP top. Look!

Maybe a iron on patch on the back of it?

Maybe a iron on patch on the back of it?

How would I do that? Is there some special material I can get that irons on?

The iron on patch comes with a special glue already on it. Ironing over it (follow the instructions on the package) will melt the glue and attach the patch. You can get one with a fancy design to show off on the outside or a plain fabric one to iron on to the inside.

Are there iron-on patches with MLP patterns on it? That'd be ideal for an MLP top. :)
I'll put something here some time

That looks like really thin material. You may be best off to just sew the spot back together. A patch would be quite obvious unless you wore a similar color shirt under it. (Or do you have long enough hair that it would be covered?)
How far is that from the neckline? I'd propose a repurposing of the shirt... take the neckline down and you could make it totally 80's! Could also wear a tank top/spaghetti strap under it.
An example (this one is long sleeved, but you get my idea)
