FIM comics??

Can anyone tell me more about these. I see amazon has these volumes for sale. One through three with a preorder for four. Do these volumes include the individual coic books? I saw hot topic as a preorder for like number 19. I'm really interested in these as my three ear old son loves to read and loves FIM.

With the FiM comics, you've got two series- there's the main series which does 2 or 4 issue story arcs, and one-shots like the recently discontinued Micro Series and the Friends Forever series that replaced it.  The one-shots usually focus on just one character in the Micro Series or two in Friends Forever. Volumes one and two have 1 4-issue story arc, three has 2 2-issue arcs, and 4 will have 1 4-issue arc. Issue 19 I got last Friday, but Hot Topic has an exclusive cover and charges $5.50 versus $3.99 for the regular comic.

Also, the comics are still obviously going to be kid-friendly, but they are more oriented toward an older audience (teens, pre-teens, adults) than the show.  I don't know how much a 3-year-old would enjoy it. Of course, I know nothing about children.

  there are  "arcs"  within the issues , so  they are grouped by the stories or arcs

the other series are  MLP  Friends Forever"  just one independent story of 2 of the Characters in each issue

there is a thread on here with more information on the comics ,I know I have seen it a while back.

Thanks. I know nothing of comics. My son may or may not be interested but he love stories and just listens to them all of the time. He is incredibly advanced for his age in this manner, but if not for him, at least I can enjoy now and save for when he is older if he still like mlp.
