ebay item has incorrect title and description-conclusion!
« on: May 21, 2014, 11:36:08 AM »
Ok. so i've been collecting the disney animator dolls for customizing. (yeah i know)
and i finally found tiana, who i've been looking for. she has marks on her, but no big, since she's a custom
the animator and the other disney dolls of the same size look similar(least tiana does), but the tale tell difference is that they can nod their heads.
well i got her today and yup no nod.
I email the seller saying she's not an animator doll and i wouldn't have bought her if i'd known. is there a way to fix this. i don't want her honestly.
but i'm not sure how much the shipping will be to send her back.
i did buy another doll from them and they have other animator dolls, so i'm sure they know the difference.

pretty upset.
advice?

  I'm so sorry to hear  you didnt get the right version of Tiana :(
I think contacting the seller and seeing what they have to say is response first was the right thing to do :bigups:  If  you really dont want the doll you can ask to return it and if it comes down to a case  to get a refund (you can open an item not as described case , which you would win)  you may or may not have to pay return shipping depending on how ebay views the matter. Or sometimes the seller will pay the return shipping since it was their mistake (thats what happens here, but not often on ebay unfortunately) . I think you need to see what the sellers response is first before taking it any further

perfect advice!
the seller felt really bad that the doll was not an animator one and i explained how i knew.
he said the other one he had one auction now wasn't an animator one either.
he gave me a full refund and said i could keep the doll.
I double checked with him to make sure it was ok to keep since i'll be donating her, don't want or need this version around.

well the only problem now is. i had bought two items at the same time and paid for them together,
the other doll mulan, was exactly as described. and well when he gave me the refund. he gave me back the money for both...... i feel bad cuz i just got both dolls for free.  the two together were 20$

i don't know if 20$ is a fair price for him to keep his positive feedback.
i feel like a scammer. i was originally only going to ask for half the auction cost back. (5$) not expecting the whole total back :(

Wow, at least you have the opposite problem most people have -- a super-nice seller.  :) I'd feel kind of guilty, too; maybe you could message him and point it out in case there's a solution. I do wonder if you can even send the money back at this point, though, if he was like, "oops, I didn't mean to do that"? There may not be a way to send the money. If there isn't a way, I don't think you need to feel bad. You're not a scammer if you unintentionally and in good faith received money you didn't ask for. :)

You could always get his paypal address nd just straight out send him the money? Perhaps that would work? At least the seller was lovely about this situation! :)

What a great seller! its so nice to hear of someone who takes responsibility for their mistakes and works with the buyer :bigups:  :cheer:   I know what you mean about feeling a bit guilty though   I think if I were you I would message him back to thank him for the refund but also mention that he gave you too much and that you would like to return some of the money since the other doll was fine and you are happy with her so no need for a refund on that one :)   If he still insists you keep the dolls and the money thats his choice so no need to feel bad- and he definitely deserves a good feedback

wow ringlet you are good.

i actually did just that last night, and got a reply saying that they wanted me to keep the money for all my troubles and inconveniences.

so i guess i shouldn't argue with them if that's what they decide.
but i do feel better that i pointed it out. and i'm really happy i get to keep my mulan doll. she's perfect for the custom i want to do.
