Question regarding German Flutterbye and set
« on: May 03, 2014, 10:00:44 AM »
Hey guys,

Just wondering if you guys know anything. I saw a picture on ebay today by Shelti

I always thought German Flutterbye came with the Nightlight set, but it seems like she's released prior to that with other ponies? Does that mean that the 2nd set of Rainbow Ponies were released in Germany and yet weren't Italian ponies?

This is a bit of an odd set :) It had Trickles, Confetti, Pinwheel, Tickle and Flutterbye however it had no Starflower; instead Starflower was replaced with Moonstone :)  In some ways its not unexpected the second release of the US rainbows had 10 ponies - 6 new and 4 repeat releases as well.

It had a reasonably wide Euro release; certainly into Scandinavia as well so they are not technically a German release.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

Oh thanks Hath! That's very interesting. May I ask if the ponies in this set are all made in HK and have painted symbols (not glitter, not metallic)?

I get the impression that only No Country and Spanish Tickle have painted symbols, and I have been chasing for a really nice one. It'll be another Tickle for me to hunt down if she is HK with matte symbols.

In fact I'd love to buy the whole set if they all have matte symbols. It's kind of an obsession of mine.

Yes all of them are HK. Their symbols are not matt however but neither are they properly glitter. They are painted and then have a very small amount of glitter on the top of them enough that the symbols sparkle. Kind of like the later mail order rainbows with their lower glitter content.

It's so confusing!

Flutterbye got a release one with the first set rainbows and once with the second set rainbows :)

Confetti
Trickles
Pinwheel
Moonstone
Flutterbye
Tickle

Nightlight
Raindrop
Starshine
Flutterbye
Moonstone
Skydancer

This thread shows lots of nice details and pictures.

Remember there is the square symbol version and the round version (pictured)
I had them for sale here in Classifieds for a couple of months with no takers so they moved to ebay.
Both are Sold now, with Square Symbol MOC headed to the Netherlands and Round Symbol MOC awaiting payment.
The accessories were both different and so were the cards.

That's so cool Shelti! I'm actually looking for Tickle in the set if she exists as a normal pony with painted symbols.

I doubt you will find one as a German Release.
You will find her in Spain and Italy but not a Hong Kong Pony.

Thank you Shelti
