Hello everyone!

My mom and I (well, mostly my mom) found 13 ponies at yard sales over the weekend which led me to write a post in the brag section of the forum. I'm pretty new to collecting MLP and I like the excitement of finding ponies in unexpected places and giving them a makeover. In other words, I don't know much yet. But when I posted the pictures of my mom's finds, several people said one of the ponies was a Nirvana one. Here it is:

I haven't seen it in person yet but if I remember right, my mom said she could read 84 Hasbro and Pat Pend under the hooves but no name of a country so according to people who commented my other thread, she's a Spanish Posey.

Now I have 2 questions about it and sorry if they seem stupid to you guys (keep in mind I'm new to it  ):

- I read the general thread about the standards that make ponies Nirvana ones. But living in France, I assume it makes it easier for me to come across a Spanish pony than someone living in Australia - unless there is no link between where the pony was produced and where it was then sold but I would think there is. So my question is: are Nirvanas the same for everyone? What I mean, following my example, is: do French people and Australian people have the same Nirvanas? I don't know if it makes much sense...

- People from the forum told me about how Posey's hair usually fades. The one my mom found has "really pink hair" according to my mom (as you may see in the picture but I don't know how pink her hair is supposed to be really). Now I've made mistakes cleaning up ponies before and I don't want to mess this one up. So, can I clean her gently? I'm concerned about her hair now. Is there something I could do (and avoid) that could cause her hair to fade or is it only caused by sun exposure? Or is it aging and can't be prevented no matter what?

Thanks in advance for the answers.

Wow, that is a nice Posey. She looks in very good shape.

About your questions. No, people in France and in Australia don't get the same Nirvanas. In fact, not all USA ponies where sold in Europe. Or vice versa. Being in France makes it easier to find Spanish ponies due to the proximity.

Her hair is super pink for a Posey, so be careful with the sun, it fades it a lot and fast. And don't use bleach or anything too aggressive. I'd recommend a soft bath with baby shampoo.

She is a lovely addition. If you plan on selling her, please let me know. ^^

Thank you LadyPinwheel. I'll make sure to be really gentle when I clean her. I haven't seen her in person yet but she seems really pretty so I think I'm going to keep her. But if I ever change my mind, I'll think about asking here if someone is interested before trying anything else, I promise! Have a nice day.

She looks lovely! I agree, keep her out of the sun to prevent fading :-)

Congratulations! She is beautiful :)

As you live in France you will find, Spanish/NC, French, Macau and Italian ponies :) you will also find Hong Kong and China ponies. You may find Dutch, German and Greek ponies ;)

Interestingly Australia does turn up odd releases and nirvana ponies :)

Thank you for the answers. I'll try my best to prevent her from fading, I promise!

Pinkkittytwinks, you wanna hear something funny? I guess you were right about French people coming across Nirvana ponies more easily... Ok, so last weekend I was hosting a housewarming party and at some point I told my friends about how I started looking for ponies at flea markets and how I liked making them pretty again and stuff. One of my friends said: "I still have one pony from Spain from my childhood (her parents have a house there and she would go there on holidays every year as a child). It's big and its eyes close when you lay him down". Today I went to her place and our daughters were playing together when my friend said: "Look, that's the pony I told you about. But nevermind, it's weird looking, it's a fake one." And it happens to be a Piggy pony (purple hair and purple body Blossom) which, from what I get, are extremely sought after. Damn French people who know nothing about Nirvana ponies, right? Haha!

Nice find! Pkw is right in that France does get a pretty good variety of Nirvana ponies. Ponies made in France only happened during a short time period, so it seems they would bring in those made in neighbouring countries, maybe because they were cheaper? (French ponies are generally pretty high quality).
