Request: Show me Cupcake Keepsake photos!

These things continue to puzzle me. I think I understand what they are and what they do, but I was wondering if someone with a decent camera might be able to disassemble one and show me some additional photos from different angles, just to be sure?

I remain baffled by them Again I kind of understand them but I still find them really weird! I hope someone has some in person pictures they can share with you.
