Ingrained dirt on G1

Hello

I recently found a bag of ponies that a family friend picked up at a flea market for me. They are in various condition, but mostly good. The worst is a Sugarberry who has terrible ingrained dirt and a few bites taken out of her (yikes!)

One of the ponies in the collection was a Tootsie with really bad ingrained dirt too. I wasn't too bothered at first since I already have a nice Tootsie but after doing her hair and removing all the other marks I have found that this new Tootsie is the best I have seen (minus the dirt). Her eyes and blush are perfect, as is her cutie mark (and it's still perfectly pink!) Most surprising, and where my other Tootsie fails, is that her head is exactly the same colour as her body. If it were not for the ingrained dirt she would be perfect!

So, my question is, what is the best way for me to remove said dirt? I've already gnoe over her with acetone and a magic eraser and its not touched the dirt. Not very much anyway

Someone here posted a tutorial for this! It involves running the area under hot water for a minute or two to open up the pores, put antibacterial soap on the area, and then using your fingernails or other device to scrape off the dirt. I have to say, the combination of this and a magic eraser worked for me! I had a Dancing Butterflies with ingrained dirt on her feet and wings.

Yes, that's the way to do it! Though, I use a hard-bristled toothbrush. It takes QUITE a bit of elbow grease, but I restored a grey Hopscotch to turquoise doing this ^^

I made a little start on her. I've found that using a craft knife to scrape across the dirt works wonders. I've already got it all off her head and feet

I use a butter knife Its perfect! I cant wait to see her all finished up!

She's all finished now, just waiting for her hair to dry

I might even try scrubbing up the Sugarberry too. Not much I can do for the nibbles but the dirt gone would be nice

Awesome job!  Tootsie actually has a vibrant color but she gets dirty easily.
