thank you very much again for your useful advice, everyone! I will still think things through, take time to decide and "taste" new possible names, but after what many of you wrote I am much less worried about sticking with the original "Lavender Lace" if that will be the conclusion.
my main problem with the name clash wasn't with commissioning. in such an event I would definitely state that I am commissioning my own ponysona and would also include a picture for reference, so, to be honest, it didn't even cross my mind this might be a problem until several of you have mentioned it here. my main concern was just that I thought doing something like this is simply a "no-go by habit". but you are right in that it might cause confusion.
you have offered a lovely variety of possibilities, thank you for brainstorming with me!
Lady is just... not something I can really relate to, and I have silly prejudices over the name Victoria (which I am trying to fight - please do not feel offended if that is your name or you like it! I do know people with this name whom I love. it's just that... they unfortunately aren't the ones that come to mind first when I hear the name
and because of this I wouldn't be able to name my ponysona Victoria unfortunately).
I did try, and will keep on brainstroming about possible other variations or additional alliterating words, but so far I haven't come across any that I liked. it seems I was thinking of Lavender Lace so long my mind now works like "it sounds good, and any other variation I think of doesn't sound right", so to eliminate this effect I will take my time to decide and get used to other possible varieties as well. I do like the idea of possibly using a third, alliterating word, though it must be short, because too long names can be a pain in the bum (I already know this from my own name. I don't even want to imagine what would have happened if I decided to use hubby's name next to mine as well
). Lacey Lavender also sounds cute, I will also be thinking of that. however, I wouldn't really like to use letter-changed variations, as want to stay fully English in the name, if part of it is English already.
