UGH! Got a different pony than stated. Advice?
« on: April 28, 2014, 10:47:35 PM »
I did a buy it now on ebay for a big brother pony that was described as the Spanish version which I assumed was the NC stamp version. I was excited to get him to add to my other NC ponies. He arrived today and I was disappointed to turn him over and see he's the regular China marked version. :argh: I contacted the seller simply stating the mistake and am waiting for a response on how to proceed with this. I would let it slide and just add him to my other collection I keep at my dads house, but I paid $25 bucks for him! A little more than I'd shell out for the regular version. I'm hoping for either a partial refund or just send him back for a full refund, minus shipping. I just spent more money than I planned mailing an auction sale and had used the funds from my sale to buy him which is now a double blow as it's not what I wanted! Any other advice in to how to handle this?

On a side note, anyone selling a NC spanish big brother Apple Delight or NC Sweet Celebrations?

 I think you did the right thing by messaging the seller first before doing anything else  :bigups: . See how they respond. They *may* offer a partial refund if you want to keep the pony, or they may ask you to return the pony for a full refund. Usually the buyer does have to pay return shipping with tracking if you open an item not as described case (which can be more costly than simply keeping the pony or reselling him to try and get your money back) , although there are instances where the seller or even ebay will pay the return shipping since the item was not what the seller said it was and it was their mistake.
Its a waiting game ATM. I dont think you need to do anything else until the person responds to your message.

I agree, you did the right thing. Have you heard anything back from them yet?

Seller wrote back it was a mistake since she sold a similar pony recently and to mail it back for refund. Should I do sig confirmation just in case the old "I never got it" excuse comes up? Or do anything special to make sure I"m covered? I may take pics of everything so nothing can be pulled about sending back a different item.

I'd suggest getting it signed, as yes many people do play the "it never arrived" card!  >_<
