Mailforwarding from the US to Russia? huh? ebay problem
« on: February 11, 2014, 11:11:24 PM »
I got an order, sent out the item, didnt hear from them for a MONTH. So I see a case has been opened saying they are from Russia and the item is dangerous and fake (its make up, the shelter I Sell online for was donated make up so we cant be sure its authentic and I do list that in the auction) lol I think that was lost in translation a bit. The thing is I shipped it to an address in PA. SO... im just sitting here like HUH??? I reported it to ebay because I thought the account was hacked. Well... turns out maybe not? they got upset and told me about the mailforwarding thing. I said Id accept a return if they sent it back... i doubt they will since shipping will be so expensive. Looks like ill be getting a negative... ugh!

selling this make up has been an awful nightmare, but it do it for the animasl!!

Ugh! How horrible! To do something for a good cause and then have it backfire :(

Did you mention in your auction that the item was not original? [not sure if I misunderstood that in your post]. If you declared something about the item in a description and then your buyer complains about that exact issue then the fault does rest with the buyer and you should be able to do something if negative feedback is left.

However, if the item was counterfeit then that could be your problem. Even if listed innocently and for something minor, its something ebay can get pretty aggressive with. So I am not sure where they will stand on it being a fake item - its probably going to be a bit of a balancing act. If a negative is left, I would call them and see if explaining everything out helps rather than relying on reporting the feedback.

luckily even though they left negative: eBay removed it. but you're right you have to be so careful about selling anything that is fake because the bay so aggressive about it... Its really hard when you have no area of expertise and really don't know. it would be like if someone found a really good custom made nirvana and threw it in a lot on eBay and someone bid on it thinking it was real. and was probably is actually easier you could probably figure out if it was real or fake if the seller provide for photos

Ugh what an awful situation :(  still I'm very glad that ebay removed the negative for you   It  definitely does make a difference how you describe the item in your auction  :awake:
(although it is also true that selling anything "fake" is asking for trouble with ebay. When I was a relatively new seller I got reported once for selling fakies  - pony toys not genuine hasbro-   stated as fakies  and not real MLP in the auction title and full description   I didnt realise at the time that even selling something like that can land you in trouble. it was one of those live and learn moments. Needless to say i dont attempt to sell  what we call "fakies" on ebay now unless I state something like "Lanard pony or Totsy pony or pony toy)
