Customizers, please HELP! G1 Restoration, Lily lost her head....

Hello fellow Pony-customizers,

I'm still a rookie and am finally getting the hang of re-rooting.  My first was the Sweet Pop that my avatar depicts.  Now I've almost finished Little Flitter and Lily.  I won them on ebay for cheap.  $7 for the two of them.  They both had a lot of rust, Lily had no wings (typical flutter), Little Flitter has a bent wing, and both had malicious hair cuts.

Ultimately I'm happy with my purchase, I just have one major problem. 

Lily's head was impossible to get off.  The glue had the tiny ring of plastic that hooks onto the head utterly embedded.  It was harder than the plastic itself.  Even with careful prying and an exacto, the head eventually came off but it came off leaving the ring inside.  I extracted it and now have 3 parts to the pony.

Has this happened to anyone else?  Should I just leave the middle part out and glue the head back on just inside the neck seam?  What glue should I use?

ouch, poor girl! On the bright side, the rehairs look gorgeous! I am no good at helping with this though

 Just some good ol Superglue, get rid of the Neck Ring and try to line it up as good as possible. Little glue on each side-- press and hold- boom, back to normal.

It happens sometimes!  You can just glue the head back on.  I use superglue; just be careful not to put too much on; you don't want it oozing out.

Yup, you can glue without the middle part done it before on a rosedust.

Thanks, my friends.  I will get some super glue tomorrow.  I have gorilla glue but its pretty hard to squeeze out.  After all that work, I really don't want to mess her up!

I have never had success with super gluing a ponies head on. I hope it works for you! The rehair is gorgeous!

Oh gosh! Poor pony. But it looks like you are working on making her lovely again I agree, keep a hold of the neck plug in case, but you will be fine just gluing her head and body back together.

You NEVER want gorilla glue on ponies. It expands and makes a mess.

Thanks guys!  Wow, a tutorial for wings?!  I gotta check this out.  If it looks like something I can do, I'll repost with my efforts.
