Looking for Disney Frozen dolls limited edition
« on: April 08, 2014, 11:51:58 PM »
Hello everybody)
I am from Ukraine) I hope at least some of you have heard about my country.
I need your help. I am looking to buy the Disney Frozen dolls limited edition.
Many of you know I have a special care daughter, who spends more time in the hospitals than with her friends.
And these dolls must be a present for her birthday in July.
I have asked several people in different countries to help me to buy the dolls at Disneystore online. But none of them could do it.
Now I see the prices for the dolls at Ebay and I understand I will never have such money.
So if you can help me to get the dolls for my girl at decent price I will appreciate it.
Must say I want to buy the dolls with no purpose of reselling them. And I am not a collector of Disney dolls. Just want to make my girl happy)
I have a friend in the USA who can buy the dolls from you and pay by PayPal. So no international shipping needed.
Thank all of you)

Hello, everyone.
I need your help. Please, tell me what crime have I done?
I have found the topic at Craiglist. This is it:

"HELLO ! I have in hand Anna and Elsa Limited Edition Disney Frozen 17" LE 5000 Dolls . Brand New . Limited Edition 1 each of 5000 Includes Certificate of Authenticity. These can be yours if you make the highest offer.

I reserve the right to refuse any offer under $250.00 for each Doll or that I feel is not legit in any way. Please ask any questions that you may have.
I look forward to hearing from you !!!!!"

So I have send the Email to the seller. This is my Email:

"Hello. My name is Anna, I am from Ukraine)
I am looking for Frozen dolls limited edition for my daughter.
I have a special care girl. We spend a lot of time in the hospitals. And these dolls must be a present for her birthday in July.
Unfortunatly, I can not buy these dolls at the prices offered at Ebay. It is beyond my financial possibility.
And I ask everybody about help.
I just want to ask if you agree to sell me  Elsa at 250 USD . Believe me it is a great amount of money for me. I guess you know about the situation in Ukraine right now. Must say it is really hard time for our country. Nevertheless I try to do my best to make my daughter happy.
I really want to buy the dolls for my girl not with purpose of reselling.
I have a friend in the USA who can buy the dolls and pay by PayPal.
I asked him before to buy the dolls at Disneystore online but he could not do it. So my only hope to buy it now is to find them at cheaper prices.

Thank you very much
Please, give me the respond even if it is negative)"

And I received the respond:

"Anna
I want to start off by saying. That I do not believe the story have written. And to write something like this in order for you to try to rip someone else off is terrible. And What a coincidence that you're looking to purchase the ELSA doll and your name just happens to be ANNA. Hummmm !
There are So many people in the world that have children with special needs or children that are very sick.. And you make an attempt to use a story like this to try to make somebody feel sorry for your own personal gain. You should be ashamed of yourself. Enclosed is a web site that you're welcome to plea your case to. I'm sure they'll be more than happy to help you out.

So I want somebody to explaine me what crime did I do?
My name is really Anna. And my daughter is really ill. As many parents in the USA I am looking for the dolls for my child.
I just can not pay 800 USD for two dolls at Ebay.
Thank you)

I'm not trying to say this to be mean. But people have used the excuse of a sick child to get things and then resell them for more money. It has made people leery of selling anything to people with stories.

Me personal I would have just ask about selling her to me without mention of anything other then your intrest in the doll.

I really did not think about it. I just wanted to show the seller I am not going to resell the doll and get profit from it.
But thank you. Next time I will think about it)
I just do not understand why the seller just replied me: " No, I will not sell at such price" ?

People on the Internet can be really rude. Calling you out might have been unnecessary, but I'm certain that the seller in turn thought it unnecessary to bring personal matters into a business transaction. As SwordPony said, this is regrettably a common behaviour among scammers. The seller might have gotten offended by your bid knowing the item could sell for much more.

I'm really sorry about your situation. These are toys we're talking about, so naturally they would belong nowhere better than in the hands of a child. At the same time, popular items quickly become rare collectibles and it's all a question of supply and demand.
If I where you I would look for alternatives. Personally I wouldn't bother trying to get a limited edition if the pricing was so steep, even if I wanted the item badly. Surely there must be other variants of the Frozen dolls that aren't so expensive? :(
I'm looking to buy Port-o-Bella. Please email me.

Oh my gosh, thats aweful! :O Im sorry you had a terrible experience! While your telling the truth, think of reading that message from the sellers point of view. I personally wouldnt bother with that seller ever agin, they could have just said 'no thank you, my reserve price isnt met' or something of the sort. Who knows, maybe they are asking a lot for the dolls because they need the money for their family?

I agree with the person above, there are plenty of good quality dolls out there! Do you have JCPenny in the Ukraine? They sell some cute Frozen dolls similar to the Disney Store dolls! The Disney Store Classic Elsa and Anna look good, and they are definitly cheaper than $250! Thats more money you can use for her birthday and more presents! ;-) Right now (at least in my area) Elsa and even anna are sooo very hard to find and even the $12 Sparkle Mattel one people are grateful to have as Mattel and Disney cannot keep up with the demand!  I know that the LE dolls are simply beautiful and amazing (even I want them really really really bad! Im considered getting a second job to afford them on evilbay!). These LE dolls are so detailed- probably as far as Frozen the best of the best and its understandable you want the best of the best Elsa doll for your daughter on her birthday but right now you can only do what you can do. Right now any child who has any kind of Frozen doll should feel super lucky!

If you are creative, you could even make her some OOAK (one of a kind) custom dolls! Ive seen people turn Barbies into Disney characters which is truely amazing! I wish you and your girl well

I believe that the dolls will become available on the Disney Store website again soon enough. I think the problem is, is that Disney never expected Frozen to be so popular, and didn't get enough dolls for the demand. Last time they were out of stock, I emailed them asking if they'd be getting anymore, they said yes, and sure enough they did. Disney aren't stupid, they see there's money to be made here, and they'll get more in. So just hang in there and hope. Sorry about your experience! But some people are like that

I'm sorry for your bad experience with the seller. I hope you're able to find the dolls

Are you looking for Elsa in her snow dress or coronation dress?

I'm pretty sure she's looking for the collectors limited edition Frozen dolls (originally sold for $100) They are all sold out now and will not be available again (the first set being limited to 2,500 and the second set being limited to 5,000) They sold out fairly quick.

Ah really? I thought those were the same dolls, as they sell for a hefty price all the time they're not available on the Disney Store website. Still, those dolls are very nice and very well made if you wanted to get them instead. I wasn't aware they released separate limited edition dolls, sorry!

Thanks to all of you, friends.
Now I understand the situation. The matter is that I had no idea about scammers and their spams. I had never faced with it before. And I just thought it would be honest if I tell the seller the truth about my situation.
The other thing is that I am not the Disney dolls collector and I consider these dolls to be just the beautiful toys of very good quality.
Yes, I am a crazy mother who will do everything for her child. But I am sure I am not the only one. I have seen a lot people who will do the same.
That is why I am  grateful to all of you)
I still hope to find the doll for my girl one day)
