That's very strange! If you are going to use bleach, you probably don't want to use a cartoon pillowcase. :( Maybe pick up a white pillowcase at a thrift shop or something just for cleaning plushies? Did you use very hot water?

Would a bleach pen just on the blue spots work? So you could control the bleach a bit?

That's what I was planning on using.

The water was hot while she was soaking, but I let her soak for at least 2-3 hours. By the time I ran the wash cycle it wasn't hot anymore. And the rinse cycle was cold water. The pillowcase wasn't put in the water until the wash cycle.

That's a good idea! Hmmm...... I'm trying to think if anyplace around here sells Rit products. I know Wal-Mart doesn't have them and we don't have any craft stores in town.

Thanks!!!!!

There's a lot of things that most Wal-Marts have that mine never gets. Like any G1 merchandise. The only thing our store got was that plastic cup in the party section.

I stopped in Krogers today after work to see if they had Rit products. They didn't. I did pick upsome Color Run Remover made by Carbona. I'm going to give that a shot.

I went to Wal-Mart Sat while running errands. I checked the crafts just to be sure they hadn't gotten any Rit product in while I wasn't looking. Nothing. Then I walked past the laundry aisle and there they were staring me in the face! They must have just got them in because they weren't there a week or two ago.

I've been working on Hello Kitty this evening. I got sidetracked this week and didn't have a chance to get back to her until now.

First I tried a carpet cleaner spray that a family friend recommended. That did nothing. Now HK is soaking in the Rit Dye Remover. The pink looks better, but the blue isn't budging. :( I'll try the Color Run Remover, but I don't think it will be tonight.

I did notice that the spot I had tried the carpet spray on was a lot lighter after using the Rit dye remover. Maybe the two need to work together. I just sprayed HK down again with the carpet cleaner. She can dry while I'm at work. Then this evening I'll try the Color Run Remover.

I find oxiclean to be very helpful- but now that she is stained on her body and head...

Well, there is White Hello Kitty BAB on ebay right now (search Hello Kitty Build A Bear Plush) with just an 1.21 hours remaining- and she is only $3.85-  are you attached to this particular plush? If not you might consider a replacement...

No, I'm not attached to this one. If this other color remover doesn't work, I'll give up and start searching Ebay. But I'll have to sell a couple things first because I don't have any money in my pay pal account.

Maybe I'll list the stained HK on Ebay for a penny. :P

There is a product I used in Australia for a similar situation called Run Away.  It's a kind of colour run remover.  It was perfect, removed all the colour that had run into my plush, but didn't change the colour of the plush.  Hopefully something like that will work for you, as you really want to avoid bleaching as much as you can.

I just got home and checked on HK. The spray seems to be working now! Maybe I didn't spray enough on the first time. Or maybe I didn't wait long enough. She's still a little blue, but it's clearly lighter. I just sprayed her again. I'll check on her again in an hour or so.
