loginMy mom and my grandpa had a hobby of painting ceramics together from the late '70s to the early '90s when the local pottery shop closed down. My grandparents have always been very special people to me, so imagine how happy I was to have found this white painted unicorn while cleaning out the basement! Especially since I had no idea that it even existed. It's marked with his initials, RH, and dated 1984. Neither of his two granddaughters were born at that time, so I'm guessing that he painted it for my mom. The blue pony right next to it is one that I painted with my boyfriend about a month ago.
Both are special because of the people who painted them, so I want to give them both some pretty nice names. I thought I'd ask the pony experts for input. =) I've seen some pretty creative stuff from you guys!
My boyfriend's name is Allen, and the horse reminds me of space because of the dark blue paint we used which was called "galaxy." I'm trying to think of space names and I really like Rigel, the seventh brightest star in the sky, but it sounds too much like Rachel when I want the pony to reflect Rachel and Allen. I've also considered Nebula, because it sounds so much like nuclear, and that works because he studies nuclear engineering.
Grandpa's name was Richard, but he went by Dick for most of his life. He was a sturdy, builder-type of guy, but very quiet. When he did speak, it was always pretty straightforward. He was the type of person who was very, very dedicated to his family. I'm looking for a mystical-sounding name that reflects a bit of that hardiness, but also with the wisdom and love that are associated with grandparent figures.
Thanks in advance for your help. I can't wait to see what y'all come up with!
