I'm with hathorcat, pretty much everything is worth mentioning to me... I'd rather have flaws overstated than wind up with a nasty surprise post-purchase.

Pet peeves?  Ink under the hooves or belly that isn't mentioned, chew marks, dents, creases on windy-wings, hair that is "rough", not truly frizzy but not smooth and silky like it should be anymore. Spots of any kind in the plastic, head mismatch, missing symbols, unable to stand / bent legs, nasty smells / mildew or smoke odour.

G1 Wishlist  It's the final countdown! Looking to purchase the last few G1's for my collection - Watercolor Baby Sea Ponies Foamy, Misty & Surfy - Red Roses - SHS Sweet Sundrop - Springy - Teeny Tiny Snookums (#2)

I'm a very picky collector. I can't fix things, nor do I want to bother trying. Even though it costs more, I buy NM to MIB/MOC only! I definitely won't consider buying a pony who has stains, mold, hair cuts, bite/chew marks, or tail rust. Years ago I won an eBay auction from Spoosh for a NM Sunlight and I was extremely happy. There aren't many other people I trust enough to buy a loose pony from, though.

When I'm selling, I list everything I can see from stains, to haircuts, to chew marks and fading and anything else.  I'd rather disclose any potential problems.

In my opinion, however, major flaws that actually bother me:  major haircuts, missing limbs/chew marks and smoke odor.

I like to know about every spot and scratch before I buy.  But... that doesn't mean I wouldn't buy it anyway.    :P

Missing something? And by something, I mean limbs, extremities, facial features..... that and smell. It cannot be stinky! Especially from cigarettes or any sort of drug or tobacco.....

I have become more picky in the years. :lmao:  :lookround:

Depending on the pony, hair cuts can be okay. (if they are not major ones)

A spot/mark somewhere maby ok, if its not cancer.

Small symbol rubbing can also be okay.

Bitemarks and cuts, major haircut, super yellowing, cancer = i dont like and rather not buy.

This. I get very frustrated when I get a Pony that has some sort of flaw that the seller didn't mention. I take things on a Pony by Pony basis, so I like to know every little thing that doesn't make a Pony mint. I remember sellers who are very studious about that sort of thing. :)

As for what I actually consider major flaws: tail rust, other visible rust, bent legs, head/body mismatch, fading, badly rubbed symbols, cancer, chew marks, missing body parts, dents, holes, mold, extreme haircuts.... I'd definitely consider bad smells a major flaw too. And I do like to know when the plasticizer has leaked out, leaving a hardened Pony. It might not turn me off the purchase, but it's just nice to know.

I'm with Hathorcat and Brightberry here.

Everything that isn't "as new" is a flaw and should be mentioned. In an ideal world every scratch and speck should be listed in order to let customers make an informed choice. Most of the time I'll put up with things like blush rub, bent legs (if fixable), one or possibly two missing hair plugs, initials under feet and sometimes faded pink hair, but I will be very miffed if these weren't mentioned upfront.

Major flaws that I couldn't accept would be: odour!, head-body mismatch, age/cancer marks, rust, eye/symbol rubs, haircuts (even small ones), bitemarks, dents, holes etc.

Even though I don't consider myself a super-picky collector, I'd much rather buy a pony thinking he/she might be in much worse shape than they really are than get one that is "Mint" and be horrifically disappointed.  I often think about my "Mint" Quackers who has rubbed blush and some age spots/cancer.  I think I could have bought her and loved her if I had known the condition that she was in, but I resent that pony (and the seller) because I paid more for her than I would normally and was a lot more excited about her because I thought she was perfectly mint.

With that said, major flaws to me are: significant hair cuts/missing plugs of hair, the absence of tails, major scratches or rubs to the eyes an symbols, head/body mismatch, significant stains/major age spots/cancer, chewed plastic, mold, significant internal rust.

For me major flaws are nom noms or as others call them chews, whether they are done by human or other animals. Unfortunately most chews cannot be fixed without drastically modifying the pony. Smaller denty chews may bake out, but even that doesn't work at times.
Really bad body consuming sticky icky cancer can be a turn off as well...

When I list ponies I try to over describe every flaw...
