Letting your kids sell off their ponies! ack!

This is difficult because you don't know what she'll be interested in when she's older. She may return to collecting what she loved as a child (like most of us here on the Arena), or she might not care about childhood toys. You could always buy the pony and hide it away. She'll probably forget about it in time. Wait until she's in her 20s and see if she starts collecting again. If so, it would be such a great gift to give her. If not, you can sell it. If it's HTF now, it will definitely still be hard to find 15 years from now!

yeah she is wanting the spending money.  she's just "discovered" SHOES!!!! LOL, I never knew you could catch that bug so early!

Still undecided.  We took pics and she put them in baggies, so we know they're "set aside" from her collection.  I'm tempted to buy them from her, but I really think she wants to watch/be included in the whole process, I get the feeling she wants to anyway.  So yeah.  Ugh.  I guess it's only a G4, and definitely not MIB.  It's not like she's offing Mimic.

Yeah why not buy it from her (and yes I'm afraid with us girls the shoe bug starts early and lasts FOREVER )

Oh man it's always hard when the kids start growing up and making some antsy decisions like this! Even though she might regret it later, I think it's important to let kids do things to learn and grow. She might be totally happy selling off a HTF pony and never miss it, or she might have sellers remorse later and miss the pony, but either outcome is an important thing for a kid to learn.

ETA: This could totally be an episode of FiM where the CMC want to get rid of some old stuff and have to learn to be business ponies. Applejack could help them out!
