What's the deal with Photobucket? RESOLVED, thanks!
« on: February 22, 2014, 04:49:08 PM »
When I first made a free account on Photobucket, there were all kinds of options to organize my library into different albums and such. Now there barely seem to be any options at all, let alone options for organization. I'm assuming this is because I'm using the free plan, but I'm just checking to see if this is normal now, or if I'm being clueless.

On an unrelated note, anyone know of some safe, free photo-sharing sites that let me organize my pictures into different albums/folders? :P

I absolutely hate Photobucket's new layout. You still have options to organize photos, but you really have to search for them if you're new to the layout. All options to create new folders, move images, edit settings and etc. are beneath the More tab on the upper right hand corner. I can provide a screenshot if necessary. :)

A screenshot would be nice, actually.  I don't even see a "more" tab.

It's simply no fun to use anymore. I pretty much am moving everything to facebook. I don't like how pb is limiting space now! There's no way I will pay to store photos when fb has unlimited storage and you can organize everything as you wish...

Facebook seems to upload horribleeee quality though. :( At least that's what I've noticed whenever I upload my artwork. It's really atrocious and I'm not even very picky with quality.

I've had a Photobucket for years but I can't recall any time when an update improved the site instead of make it worse :u

the iPhone app is crazy now too!  It used to be easy to use and now I'd just rather not deal with it.

See, I don't even see this entire thing! I'm inclined to think it doesn't think that I am logged in, that I'm just a guest viewing my own library, except it lets me access my account information and update to a paid version.

AND now it's not even letting me do that, I'm definitely not logged in this time. Let me try to log in and see what happens.

EDIT: Okay, I logged back in. My only options are "Library," "stories," "recent," "Select an album" "share an album," "Search Photobucket," another button that gives me the exact same options, in addition to "Upload," "View Profile," "Settings and Storage," and "Log out." I can't organize my pictures, I can't even delete them. Did I miss something?? Is it punishing me for not connecting my account to Facebook? That can't be it, because at one point I did, and it was exactly the same, non-helpful options.

So how do you guys like Flickr?

That's unusual. My mom and I share an account; it isn't paid and neither one of us has an FB account. I'm afraid I don't have any other suggestions; hopefully you can find a better hosting site. :(

Imgur is quite good and so is Flickr but I will admit no matter which other sites I use...I end up back at Photobucket as for the free plan it has the best options. :( It takes some getting used to the new layout but it still offers all the same options as the old one.

Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

Same goes for me. I've been a Photobucket user for a long time. I admit it is a bit frustrating at first, trying to figure out how to do everything all over again after an update. And I have tried several other image hosting sites. But at the end of the day I feel like Photobucket has the free plan with the best options. So no matter what else I try, I always end up sticking with Photobucket in the end.

Okay, somehow I was stuck on the "mobile site" and therefore had incredibly limited options. I have no idea how I even got to the mobile site in the first place, and I can't tell if this makes me or Photobucket the idiot in this situation, but okay, it's all figured out now! *phew*

Thanks for the help, you guys, clearly I needed it!
