Ink stains on Applejack and Baby Applejack - Sunfading?
« on: February 02, 2014, 08:51:26 AM »
Hello everyone! :)
I recently bought a lot of ponies which came with both G1 Applejack and Baby Applejack. They're in pretty good condition overall... Aside from both being covered in patches of what looks like blue ink! I've tried to remove them, but so far to no avail. I was wondering about sunfading them? Or is there another method I could try?
Thank you so much

Yep, sunfading is your best bet for ink stains.  :)

Agreed. And I've often found blue ink among the easier of stains to fade out  ;)  Good luck  :)

Have you tried magic eraser first? If you have and had no luck with that then yes I agree sun fading is the next best bet. :)

Agree on the sunfading. Wrap up their hair though (I use wet toilet paper or tinfoil), the sun can dry it out a bit. :o) Check them regularly and rotate...

Thank you everyone! I have become a big fan of sunfading since I sunfaded a Glory I restored a little while back. I was just a bit worried as I know some ponies can burn, and I wasn't sure if Applejack or Baby Applejack were on the list.

Hathorcat: I did think of the Magic Eraser, but I wasn't sure if we had them over here or not. Might have a look in Wilkinson tomorrow as I'm going in there anyway. Just has a look on their website, and they have the Flash brand on there. I assume that would be okay on a pony?
Thank you so much everyone. I will see if I can pick up an eraser tomorrow anyway as I've wanted one for a while. AJ and Baby AJ are going to have a nice view out of the window for a few weeks! at least they would if their eyes weren't going to be masked off  :lookround:
Thanks!

The Flash magic eraser is a pretty new product - I think they finally realised how popular and successful the cheaper JML and pound shop brands are. I bought them as soon as they hit the shelves in my local supermarket [having always used the £1 versions before] and its fantastic! Works perfectly.

Not that this is really necessary on top of everyone else's advice, but I try to advertise where I can:
